An exciting opportunity exists for an Executive Director within our Strategic Sourcing group in the Department of Treasury and Finance. This role provides a unique opportunity to drive a large scale reform within a whole of government procurement solutions function to achieve the best value for the Victorian Government and our community.

About the role

We are seeking an Executive Director of Strategic Sourcing (SES 2). The key accountabilities are:

  • Lead the Group to deliver strategic whole of government contracts to achieve value for money outcomes for government
  • Lead the Group to develop procurement data analytics capability and implementation of systems that will simplify and streamline supplier engagement with government
  • Provide authoritative advice to the Assistant Treasurer on procurement and policy matters, emerging issues, and options for improving strategic management of procurement functions
  • Drive continuous improvement within the Group, focused on process standardisation, simplification, and automation
  • Communicate a compelling vision to aid the achievement of the Department's vision, mission, business, and organisational objectives
  • Create an environment where learning flourishes and the capability of the Group grows

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience driving a large scale procurement reform
  • Capability to lead, motivate and support a large and diverse group to develop and deliver procurement services
  • Capability to actively identify, build and maximise relationships with key stakeholders to inspire action and achieve business objectives
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, and experience in providing authoritative and concise advice on complex issues within procurement
  • Ability to continuously drive the organisation forward maintaining its relevance and strategic solutions that are fit for purpose
