Tresillian is pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for an experienced Child and Family Health Nurse to apply for the role of CNS2 - Centralised Intake Unit. The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) will be responsible for the coordination and clinical triage function of the CIU. This includes prioritisation of referrals based on clinical information, consultation, liaison and case planning with health professionals and /or the family for referrals for families with complex needs; and ensuring the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness to process the referrals in a timely manner escalating risk as required.

The Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies, trading as Tresillian, was formed in 1918 to coordinate early child and maternal health care services in New South Wales (NSW). Selection Criteria – Applicants must address the Selection Criteria

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with completion of a relevant post-registration qualifications and at least three years’ experience working in the specialty field of Child and Family Health.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership with proven ability to exercise sound judgment and provide leadership in professional standards, ethics and a commitment to research and innovation
  • Commitment to actively contribute to own and the health care team’s professional development and to act as a resource person and mentor to others within your speciality. Demonstrated ability to exercise professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requirements of clients in the specialist field of Child and Family Health Nursing, including ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making capabilities
  • Experience in or understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across the service system network with a range of stakeholders inclusive of referral processes, care coordination, case management and service promotion.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate clinical services and manage change
  • Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills, interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills and proficiency in use and understanding of relevant computer software.
  • Driver’s License
