JOB DESCRIPTION
Tulum Turkish Restaurant in Balaclava, VIC is currently looking to appoint a qualified Chef or Cook on a full-time basis.
The successful applicant will have a strong team focus, be genuinely interested in inspiring others to achieve and looking to step into a busy kitchen.
A great work ethic is the main thing we are after but energy, enthusiasm and a genuine love of cooking is also paramount.
This is a full-time role offering a 38 hour working week with two days off per week.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Food preparation and cooking to order during service and private parties
- Assist with staff training and mentoring
- Assist in menu design, implementation and costing both food and labour
- Assist in stock control and monitoring wastage
- Staff rosters
- Supplier liaison
- Ensuring safe work practices with focus on workplace health and safety
- Follow hygienic food handling practices
It is preferable that you possess either a Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) and must have a least 3 years experience in commercial kitchens post qualification.
The salary range will be between $55,000 - $70,000 per year plus super depending on experience.
