Job Description

Winkle Group is a South Australian based business servicing commercial and retail clients. The business has been undertaking commercial interior fitouts since 1978. Winkle Group operates from Edwardstown, SA where it manufactures commercial joinery and Project Manages fitouts for all states in Australia.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated individual looking to embrace responsibility and with a desire to lead by example. Our commercial joinery manufacturing team requires a highly skilled tradesman that can assume the role of a leader.

This role will form part of a production team including a Production Manager, Drafters, Project Managers, Tradesmen and Apprentices.

The role would suit experienced Team Leaders or experienced tradesmen looking to further their career and those seeking longer term employment. It is a factory based role in production management

About You

Experience in joinery manufacture a must

Computer skills essential

You will love to lead by example and have a ‘can do’ attitude

You will be hands on with the production of joinery, logistics, purchasing and team leading

You must be able to hit critical deadlines and work under pressure

You will be friendly, approachable and an effective communicator with clients, suppliers and co-workers

You will be a team player and nurture the harmonious culture already established in the company

Qualifications and Experience

Experience in joinery manufacture - you must have a qualification in Cabinet Making/Joinery/Carpentry or Shopfitting

Ability to read and interpret drawings

Strong technical trade skills, problem solving and decision making skills

The ability to manage, motivate and train staff in joinery production

CNC operational experience an advantage

Computer literacy - Microsoft Office and an ability to learn and embrace new software

An openness and willingness to learn, be flexible and adapt in a changing environment

Tasks and Responsibilities

Work closely with the Production Manager to schedule workflow for production

Lead, train and manage a team of tradesmen and apprentices

Work hands on with the production of commercial joinery

Ensure quality control within the factory

Provide problem solving solutions and guidance to the team when issues arise

Maintain plant, equipment and vehicles

Manage stock levels and purchasing requirements in conjunction with the Production Manager

Ensure health and safety compliance and monitor the physical and mental wellbeing of staff

Continuously seek opportunities to improve on production efficiency, factory layout and logistics

Implement technological changes to benefit the production processes

Liaise with the Drafters, Project Managers and Directors to achieve customer satisfaction and deadlines
