The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a critically important role in South Australia, delivering the State's infrastructure projects and operating and maintaining the State’s transport networks. The North-South Corridor (NSC) Delivery Program is a multi-billion dollar project that will complete the final and most complex stage of a 78km free-flowing motorway that is vital to both the future economy and the liveability of Adelaide.

This Program will be the single biggest infrastructure project in South Australia’s history, and will deliver the final piece of the North-South Corridor. This missing link is the 10.5 kilometre section between the River Torrens and Darlington, which will deliver Adelaide’s only cross-city motorway and 78 kilometres of non-stop free flowing motorway.

The Project Specialist - Tunnels will be responsible for leading the provision of high quality advice on the design, development and delivery of tunnelling works for the North South Corridor Program Delivery Office. The successful candidate will have experience working on significant major tunnelling projects, have extensive technical knowledge in all aspects relating to tunnels including design, procurement, construction, operations and maintenance. To be considered for this role, we are seeking applications from technical experts with a proven track record of success, high integrity and demonstrated resilience in a changing environment.

Special Conditions
The role is classified as a position of trust and will be subjected to a satisfactory criminal history record check in line with departmental policies and procedures.
Some out of hours and weekend work will be required. Some intra/interstate travel may be required.

Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 3 years
