Role and Responsibilities

Denis The Menace has an exciting position for an experienced and outgoing chef to join our kitchen team in one of Cremorne’s favourite cafes.

As a Sous Chef, you will step into a fun, modern café with a focus on serving fantastic produce-driven food.

We are looking for an energetic and passionate chef who is willing to take the next step in their career.

Applicants must have a strong work ethic, passion for serving great food, a creative flair, and a personality to contribute to the positive atmosphere and progressive direction of the business.

The successful applicants experience and attributes will include;

  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Work alongside the Head Chef to contribute to the day-today operation, on-trend set menu and seasonal specials
  • Ability to take charge on the Head Chefs’ days off and run the kitchen to a high standard, previous experience in a management role is a must (i.e – Ordering stock, managing kitchen staff, etc)
  • Have a strong understanding of food safety protocols and procedures
  • Have a strong sense of pride and passion for hospitality
  • Have a desire to continue to learn and grow as a chef
  • Receiving and checking stock inventory
  • Good personal presentation

Qualifications and Education Requirements

You are an experienced Sous Chef with minimum 3 years experience under your belt. You hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and are a great communicator, with a willingness to learn, bubbly and positive attitude.
