Job Description

Tower Australia have an Estimating position available.

At Tower Australia, we provide a complete package of services and specialises in residential and commercial fit-out which includes:

  • Suspended ceiling systems
  • Internal and external stud wall framing and lining systems
  • Hebel wall systems
  • Plasterboard wall partitions
  • Doors, doorjambs and fittings
  • Glass partitions
  • Cladding
  • Skirting, architraves and pelmets

The ideal candidate will be ambitious and looking to grow and develop within the company. The candidate will have minimum of 2 years’ experience in estimating preferably with exposure to gyprock and cladding.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates for small, medium and large sized projects.
  • Meet or exceed the Client’s obligations and deadlines.
  • Identify potential contractual, financial and operational risks and discover methods to minimise risk.
  • Make outbound calls to suppliers requesting for quotations.
  • Take and issue minutes at the Bid Team Meetings and Tender Strategy Meetings.
  • Answer questions and phone calls for any Tender Request for Information (Tender RFI) for the proposed tender.
  • Criteria
  • A tertiary qualification in building/drafting studies.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in estimating within Australia.
  • An understanding of strategic thinking and lateral thought processes.
  • Experience using Buildsoft and Cubit software.
  • Good computer skills in MS Office applications: Excel & Word.
  • Communicates well both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and stay focused under pressure.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Independent and innovative thinking skills.
  • Willingness to continue to learn about estimating and the project operating systems.
  • A structured approach to work methods.
  • Good attention to detail.
