Grain - Storage & Handling | Operations - Adelaide Region

Multiple casual positions available
Located in Port Adelaide/Outer Harbor
Diverse and fast paced role

Viterra is looking for enthusiastic and focused individuals to work across our Port Adelaide and Outer Harbor sites. In the role of Terminal Operator, you will complete a multitude of tasks to assist with the receival and outturning of grain at our sites. A Terminal Operator, along with their team, are responsible for meeting our customers’ needs by ensuring grain at site is handled and stored in an effective, hygienic and safe manner.

Duties may include

Classification and quality control
Inspecting quality of grain on delivery and while in storage, taking and testing samples of grain.
Maintaining hygiene
General cleaning at site, site presentation, dust inspections and audit compliance.
Pest management
Fumigating grain, rodent and bird control, weed and structural spraying.
Grid attendant and manual grain handling work tasks
Receiving grain by truck into storage and outturing from storage.
Machine and plant operating
Front end loader driving, forklift operation, Agri Vac operations and operating concrete vertical, steel bin and shed machinery.
Ship loading duties
Tasks associated with the efficient and safe loading of bulk grain products onto export vessels.
Container packing duties as required

Skills and experience

Effective team player with the ability to learn quickly and accept new challenges
Current motor vehicle licence preferable
Ability to obtain other licences and safety training
Strong communication skills who works well in a team environment
Previous grain handling experience is an advantage but not essential
