As a pioneer of Affordably priced Property Styling and Interior Design in Queensland, Affordable Interiors offers extensive experience to the market as well as dedication to service and detail. We are constantly growing and are seeking a key team member to support the Director in all projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Experience working in the Interior Design Industry, preferably with Colour consultations, Mood boards & Furniture selections, Budget preparations, Client liaison and Sales.
  • Ability to manage multifaceted situations under pressure and problem solve on the spot.
  • Superb communication skills and an ability to communicate well with people of all backgrounds and in stressful situations.
  • Pleasant, confident personality and professional presentation.
  • Physical fitness.
  • Enthusiasm about joining a small dynamic team.
  • Interest in working in a different environment every day.
  • Strong time management skills and an ability to coordinate a project to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible availability Monday to Friday and capable of working anywhere in Brisbane, and surrounds.
  • Willingness to provide general assistance to the Director. This may include making beds, packing and unpacking light furnishings, ironing, cleaning.
  • Reliability and dedication to the role.
  • Marketing and Social Media skills are desirable.

About the role 

This role will combine work in the Interior Design arm of the business as well as the Property Styling arm. The role will involve colour consultations, composing mood boards and making furniture selections, managing budget expectations, driving sales, and delivering projects on time and budget. A large portion of the role is a fun fast paced physical job setting up and packing up display furnishings. It will involve making beds, and setting up and packing up furnishings. No two days will be the same, however the same high standards will be expected. The role will commence as a casual role for training with a view to becoming permanent part-time, possibly full-time, depending on the successful applicant. Hours will average at 15-20 hours per week to begin. Own transport is essential. Our Office and warehouse is located on the South East side of Brisbane. Most of our projects are in Brisbane but projects can be located anywhere from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast. At least 3 years experience working in a professional environment is required to meet the minimum requirements for this role. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their strong work ethic, and be excited to combine their Interior Design experience with the fast-paced physical and creative styling duties.
