About The Role

The purpose of this newly created specialist Business Development Manager is to proactively engage with external customers to promote and secure growth for NEC’s Cyber Security Solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify, qualify, develop and present propositions/solutions that meet the needs of the customers;
  • Work with New Market Business Development Managers, Major Account Business Development Managers and Customer Success Managers to qualify opportunities, define quotes and proposals, and close teaming-based sales;
  • Deliver presentations internally and directly to prospects to position NEC’s value;
  • Develop, manage and deliver accurate business documentation supporting short and long term sales forecasts and pipeline, in line with NEC business objectives;
  • Grow, capture and maintain an extensive knowledge base and pipeline of all accounts including opportunity and win plans;
  • Provide market insights, to influence the Cyber Security Services portfolio vision and priorities for future development and investment.

Sales Model Success Factors
  • Clearly articulate NEC products and service proposition to NEC prospects and customers;
  • Where no Major Account Business Development Manager or Customer Success Manager exists - act as the main interface between the customer and NEC for Cyber Security Services, and introduce other Specialist Business Development Managers to the customer to help them with their sales requirements;
  • Take NEC internally on a journey to execute sales, including the delivery of “Win Planning” for key opportunities;
  • Understand customer requirements and deliver compelling proposals.

Skills & Experience Needed
  • Extensive experience in B2B Services Sales, ideally in Security;
  • Previous experience in managing the sales process (lead identification, qualification through to closure);
  • Effective and clear communicate skills with all levels within the business (Executive through to Technical teams);
  • Ability to influence others and present compelling proposals including the use of Account and Win Planning;
  • Very good written and interpersonal and collaborative skills.
