Room Leader - Toddlers
Orchard Early Learning Centre offers a fresh approach to early learning, drawing on the natural environment to inspire children to become discoverers, learners and thinkers – holistically preparing them for a life of learning and wellbeing.
The Centre
Orchard Early Learning Centre in Kirrawee (Sutherland Shire) is a 164 place service with 5 classrooms. Spread across two levels, with defined Nursery and Preschool levels, the bright and airy early learning rooms flow directly onto the outdoor learning environments, immersing children in our Paddock to Plate philosophy. The service operates from 6.30am - 6.30pm.
Our Kirrawee facility has been deigned to realise the very best in care and learning for nursery, junior pre-school and pre-school aged children.
This large-scale learning environment caters for a 64 place Nursery (0-2.5yrs) and 100 place Preschool (30 months-6yrs).
The Role
We are seeking a full time lead educator with a pasison and experience in the toddler years (2-3 years). This is an room leader role role working 4 or 5 days per week, total of 38 hours across the week. The right person for this position will be inspired by educational philosophies such as Educaring and Reggio Emilia philosophy and able to adapt to a unique working environment.
Specific duties involve:
- Lead our established team of educators
- Implement our curriculum and practice
- Routines and behavious
- Coachin and mentoring less experiences staff
The successful applicant will require:
- Diploma or ECT qualification
- Up to date first aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis certificates
- A Working With Children Check
- Child Protection Certificate
- Two professional referees (industry specific)
- Legal ability to live and work in Australia.
Essential Qualities
- Previous working experience as room leader for 2-3s for no less than two years
- Proven experience establishing routines and assisting childen in transitioning
- An ability to establish trusting, happy relationships with children, families and staff
- Ability to lead a team of experienced and creative educators
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skill, including documentation skills
- Superior knowledge of EYLF and NQS
- Commitment to excellence in early childhood to provide high quality care and education.
- Strong understanding of the planning cycle, observation techniques and making essential links to children's learning outcomes.
- Proven expereience in delivering quality education programs and daily routines that meet the needs and interests of each individual child
