Specialist Content & Social Media (Av4)

Ambulance Victoria - Melbourne, VIC

Source: uWorkin

  • Complex and dynamic environment
  • Develop strategy and content
  • Deliver influence and impact

As Victoria's only state-wide health service, Ambulance Victoria (AV) occupies a unique role in the public health system. Last year, almost one million people experiencing a health emergency called on us for help. We continue to evolve our service to meet the growing and increasingly complex needs of Victorians, to connect every patient to the right pathway of care – whether hospital emergency or alternative pathways. The Communications & Stakeholder Relations division has recently restructured to better support AV's transformation to a modern, digitally connected ambulance service.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Content Production, this role is responsible for developing and executing social media campaigns and content across AV's established social media channels, sharing the stories of our patients, people and partners. As a senior specialist operating in a fast-paced media environment, this role is focused on protecting and strengthening Ambulance Victoria's brand, supporting strategic goals and influencing the community to drive better health outcomes. The role requires strong production skills including script development, filming and editing, as well as the management, measurement and evaluation of social media assets. It is also responsible for monitoring sentiment and feedback, both publicly and through direct messaging, and responding and escalating matters to the External Affairs leadership.

About you

You are an accomplished public affairs practitioner with proven expertise in social media, a sharp eye for a good story and the passion, skill and creativity to share it with the world. You know how to make the complex relatable and have your finger on the pulse of what's happening in and around the organisation and what resonates with your audience. In a fast-paced environment in which no two days are the same, you comfortably flex, adapt, pivot and change ideas, content and production plans to seize opportunity and mitigate reputational risk. Strong time-management and organisation skills support your ability to deliver high quality, timely content. Nuanced and mature stakeholder relationship management and the ability to navigate a large and complex and healthcare organisation, together with proven judgement in managing issues and reputation are essential for success.
