We are seeking an experienced National Account Manager to join our talented and energetic Sales Team in the Karndean Australia and New Zealand operations. This is a newly created role that will enable better alignment with our market.

The successful candidate will be experienced in specification sales focusing on national large-scale projects, able to apply their excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to the flooring industry. 

An attractive remuneration package including vehicle allowance and sales bonus is offered. 


The National Account Manager - Commercial is responsible for building and maintaining strong long-term relationships with key accounts. This includes developing and executing plans to generate sustainable sales revenue for the Commercial Sales Team to existing and new corporate clients, focusing on master specifications and national rollouts. 

Key responsibilities include -

Information and Insights

  • Developing and maintaining broader industry knowledge and principles
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Ensuring 100% CRM accuracy and relevance

Business Plans

  • Identifying and connecting with new sales leads and markets 
  • Build customer engagement plans to identify needs and business development opportunities

Relationship Management

  • Nurturing strong relationships with national and corporate customers
  • Informing clients of new product developments

Achieving Sales Budgets

  • Ensuring that ongoing sales pipeline volumes are sufficient across dedicated major accounts
  • Pitching and negotiating products and/or services to new and existing clients
  • Develop quotes, tenders and proposals
  • Developing sales goals for the team and working with sales leaders to deliver


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification (desirable)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in building product sales
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written, aural and oral communication skills
  • Possesses a strategic mindset, seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into executable plans
  • Ability to negotiate with, influence and work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Strong IT fluency with working knowledge of Microsoft and CRM
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst performing within a team environment
  • Demonstrates numerical literacy
  • Approaches challenges creatively to solve tough problems 
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry 
  • A current valid driver’s license
