About The Role...

As a Technical Support Officer you will assist with our IT Help Desk, problem solve issues as they arise and provide support to our internal and external customers. This role is a permanent full-time position is based in Lonsdale SA, reporting to the Manager Technical Support who is also based in Lonsdale. You will on a regular basis troubleshoot a range of IT issues including sourcing hardware, upgrading and implementing software, problem solving user issues and coordinate daily maintenance duties. This position shares an on-call roster with the technical IT team. Currently one week out of three for issues that arise outside of hours.

About The Person…

We require an experienced Desktop Support/Systems support person with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role. As a customer facing position you will need to have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and able to work using your initiative. The ability to build strong working relationships supported by excellent attention to detail will be critical.

Responsibilities Include…

  • Monitor and maintain incoming IT Help Desk tickets
  • Prioritise Help desk tasks
  • Configure desktops and laptops including deployment
  • Maintain network/server and workstation infrastructure
  • Manage backup tape rotation/archiving process and maintain user security access
  • Source and provide quotes for IT equipment/software
  • Maintain and manage the asset register
  • Deliver on project as they occur
To be successful in this role, you will need to have…
  • Practical knowledge of desktop technology with PCs, laptops, mobile phones, desk phones and related equipment.
  • Experience working with servers and networking equipment, cloud-based software (Office 365) and a broad understanding of security principles.
  • Demonstrated problem solving experience.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, manage conflicting priorities with tight deadlines.
  • A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities while working autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across the business both internally and externally.
You also need to be involved in providing your expertise in accomplishing projects with network/server support and upgrades. Must be able to work autonomously whilst supporting and working with the team is critical. Some local travel and the occasional interstate travel may be required from time to time.
