HOPE has been a community service in Western Australia for over a century, providing much needed support to people affected by alcohol and other drugs, mental ill-health, youth justice issues and socioeconomic disadvantage.

Our People and Culture Team has an exciting opportunity for a Work Health and Safety Officer to join the team! The position is full time working Monday to Friday.

About the Opportunity

The position of Work Health and Safety Officer is a newly created full-time position reporting to the People and Culture Manager. This is a hands-on role and instrumental to building and nurturing a positive organisational safety culture.

As the first point of contact for all health & safety concern, you will take ownership of developing and continually keeping up to date with safe work systems, practices and standard operating procedures. You will comply with all legal, ethical and regulatory requirements. You will undertake WH&S projects as required, and lead rehabilitation and return to work program. You will coordinate monthly WHS meetings and reporting requirements, and assist with the management of work cover claims.

Requirements of the Role:

Were looking for team player that loves to partner, coach and inspire others to role model best practice safety initiatives. Building positive relationships across all levels within an organisation, stakeholder management expertise will be a must along with your ability to provide clear and timely advice.

In addition, you will have a minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, ideally with a minimum of 3 years experience with demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Safety Management Systems.
