JOB DESCRIPTION

The Woolsthorpe Union Station Hotel in regional Victoria is looking for a Chef to join their supportive team.

The successful applicant must have Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management and have experience cooking all different styles of cuisine, including specialty cooking with beef as you will have access to quality beef and lamb produce direct from the farm.

Previous one to two years’ relevant experience working in a fast paced, high volume environment is essential. Must also be willing to work split shifts.

Tasks Include:

  • Planning menu and estimating food and labour costs
  • preparing and cooking food
  • ordering food supplies
  • monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  • discussing food preparation issues with Managers, kitchen and waiting staff
  • explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations

Salary range $50,000 to $54,999
