Melbourne Cat Vets - Fitzroy, VIC

Health, Medical & Pharmaceutical

JOB DESCRIPTION

About Us:

Melbourne Cat Vets is a rapidly growing, boutique feline-only clinic located in the cosmopolitan inner-North suburb of Fitzroy. We are well-equipped and have a great clientele base from all over Melbourne, and beyond!

We pride ourselves on our high level of expertise, client service and stress-free cat handling skills. Our team consists of a Registered Specialist in Feline Medicine and dedicated Feline-focussed GPs and nurses.

You will be involved with a wide range of cases, from the cutest kitten health checks, to the most complex internal medicine referrals, ultrasonography, dentistry, surgery and endoscopy. We also work closely with our local 24-hour Emergency and Specialist centres to provide the best outcome for our patients and clients.

Our focus is on achieving gold-standard veterinary care, while at the same time looking after the health and wellbeing of our team.

The Position:

We require an experienced feline-focussed veterinarian who is able to work well with our existing team of vets and nurses, has excellent communication skills, and is able to provide compassionate support to our sometimes-worried cat owners. Competency in dentistry and basic surgery would be a bonus.

The role is two to three week-day consulting/procedure shifts per week, and some Saturday consulting shifts.

To be considered for this position:

  • You will need to be a tertiary qualified Veterinarian with a minimum of 4 years-experience
  • Have a strong interest in feline medicine as evidenced by intended or existing enrolment or completion of the membership of the Feline Chapter of the ANZCVS, and/or existing enrolment or completion of a feline medicine continuing education course.

What we can offer you:

  • Competitive pay on an hourly rate basis (no unpaid overtime, and no after-hours!)
  • A friendly and cohesive work environment
  • A continuing education allowance, and in-house training opportunities as they arise
  • Employee discounts and social events
