Are you a Sydney-based PR professional with at least 5 years' experience working in/with the media?


Want to join a high impact organisation providing services and support in the youth cancer space?


Looking for a permanent part time role, 3 days (22.5 hours) a week? Please read on!


About the opportunity


Fantastic flexible part time role in the marketing communications team with a high impact organisation providing services and support in the youth cancer space.


Reporting to and supporting the Communications Manager, you'll be responsible for building, protecting and positioning the brand through:

  • proactive media campaigns
  • effective media and sector relationships
  • strategic media advice and briefings
  • reactive media relations
  • horizon scanning to identify opportunities and issues
  • media alerts and monthly reporting
  • supporting crisis communication if required.


This is an office-based permanent part time role.


The full time equivalent salary range is $75-85k + super and benefits ie pro rata'd for 3 days.


About you


You're an experienced PR/media professional with a flexible, proactive and collaborative approach and:

  • at least 5 years' experience working in/pitching to media (agency or in house)
  • demonstrated experience planning, executing, monitoring and reporting on media and communication campaigns
  • exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills
  • demonstrated ability to identify, pitch and leverage a story across multiple channels
  • demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and opportunities
  • strong stakeholder management skills
  • a high care factor and desire to make a difference through your work
  • existing Australian media contacts preferred (metro/local/regional)
  • tertiary qualifications in journalism, media, communications or a related field.
