This is a great opportunity for a Special Projects Manager to join our team in a permanent salary position of 38 hours per week.

 The Role

As the Special Projects Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of projects in line with the K&B Timber & Hardware business strategy. Predominantly, a project management position, the SPM will help define, secure, resource and manage projects including site expansions, new store developments, facilities upgrades and site consolidations across K&B Timber & Hardware's network of retail and trade sites.

The role will involve working away from home on occasions as per individual project requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing project management frameworks
  • Manage multiple/overlapping projects
  • Manage multiple stakeholders including K&B project team, third party merchandisers, suppliers and contractors to deliver agreed standards
  • Deliver against a defined time-frame and budget, and manage project budgets
  • Ensure regular accurate and timely updates are provided to the senior K&B team
  • Interpret building plans, fixture layouts, store design, traffic management and its impact on the operational requirements of a project or site
  • Perform required risk assessments, implement hazard management and monitor for safety breaches
  • Adhere to administrative requirements

Requires skills and attributes:

  • Proven project management experience
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Ability to identify and prioritise requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking ability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
  • The ability to set and maintain procedures and workflows
  • Strong understanding of WHS requirements
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office 365 suite, Project, Word, advanced Excel)
  • Current drivers licence required
