About the Organisation

City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1,000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.

About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader and working in a small team, this customer service focused role provides accurate and timely phone, email and face to face responses to stakeholder queries about a range of permits for commercial use of public land including outdoor dining and construction activities.

The role is also responsible for maintaining the City Permits register, processing and assessment of applications and providing outcomes which adhere to relevant Acts, regulations, Council policy and service standards.

Telephone, email and face to face contact with customers
Process applications and issue decisions within service standards.
Skills and Experience
Customer focussed communicator
Proven ability to achieve deadlines.
Pathway/One Council experience preferred
Prior knowledge of permitting and/or construction industry desirable

Security requirements and professional obligations

Pre-employment screening will apply to all appointments.

evidence of mandatory qualifications/registrations/licences,

sufficient proof of their identity.
