The Client and you:
Large organisation that provides solutions for a number of industries requires an Electrical Project Engineer for an initial 6 month contract. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience within automation and software technology, electrical design for large equipment installs, hands-on PLC commissioning and installation experience as well as excellent Project Management skills.
A varied role but an exciting challenge that will involve project planning, client support, electrical engineering oversight of testing, designing and installation of new plant-based machinery in accordance with Australia standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Solution-focused Electrical Project work
- PLC modification, fault find and repair, PLC Programming
- Oversee and support the maintenance and installation team, communicating with sub-contractors ensuring that new machinery is installed effectively and safely
- Drive projects – machinery installation, machinery upgrades while overseeing all aspects of Electrical engineering, wiring, controls, hands-on measuring and fault finding for both before and during equipment installation
- Preparation of electrical layouts and detailed CAD drawings – wiring & schematics
- Design coordination assisting with 2d and 3d CAD Design and overseeing drafts
- Controls and Installation as well as branch wiring / circuit designs / schematic diagrams
- Inspect completed installations to ensure that machinery is operational and safe to use
- Strong focus on OH&S Standards
- Expert knowledge of Australian Electrical codes AS 3000
- Report and present project analysis weekly to Senior Management
- Communicate with other team members effectively and clearly
To be a successful fit for this position you will have:
- A Degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years' Electrical Engineering Design and installation experience
- SCADA, PLC fault find and repair and programming required
- An OH&S qualification is preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate and write reports
