(12-months temporary contract – maternity leave replacement position)

It is an exciting time to be working as a land use planner in the City of Parramatta. The Greater Sydney Commission has identified Greater Parramatta as the “Central City” for the Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area. The City of Parramatta Local Government Area has been expanded through the Government’s amalgamation process to cover a number of new growth precincts. The area is currently experiencing a significant period of rapid growth and change and there are many exciting urban revitalisation projects underway that will shape the City’s future.

Council’s Land Use Planning team is focused on strengthening Council’s capacity for strategic, pro-active, integrated and responsive management of land use planning. To help respond to the period of rapid growth and change that we are currently experiencing, we are seeking a land use planner for a 12-month temporary contract position – maternity leave replacement position.

This position is situated within the Planning Framework Harmonisation Team that is primarily responsible for the consolidation of planning instruments, including Local Environmental Plans, Development Control Plans and Contribution Plans following the amalgamation of the City of Parramatta.

We are seeking a highly organised, motivated and passionate land use planner who is able to join Council and adapt quickly to a fast paced, challenging and dynamic work environment.

For further information regarding this role please contact Shari Driver, Land Use Planning Manager on (02) 9806 5235 and quote the position name and reference number.
