About the Role...

An exciting new role has come up within our manufacturing team for an experienced and systematic Demand Planner. Based at our head office in Lonsdale SA and reporting to the Sales & Operations Planning Manager this role will execute the organisation’s demand planning activities across sales and operations to optimise the value chain relationships within business, and provide transparency to the organisation as well as its customers. The purpose of this role is to improve the systems, tools and capabilities within the organisation pertaining to demand management and forecasting.

About the person…

The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified in business/ statistics or related field with sound statistical and analytical knowledge. You will preferably have at least five years of experience in demand planning or sales operations and planning process. You will be an effective team player and a strong communicator with excellent written communication, report writing and presentation skills. You will be able to do root cause analysis to solve problems and overcome challenges enabling the business to meet its production and sales objectives. A strong understanding of operation and logistics functions would be a great advantage and so would be advanced excel skills.

Key Responsibilities include:
Develop a rolling 24 month forecast for products sold across various categories
Monitoring demand fluctuations and demand forecast risks
Develop effective mitigation plans using statistical projections and modelling
Assess and monitor forecasting accuracy and determine opportunities for improvement
Communicate any demand fluctuations with Operations team in order to maintain seamless supply of material
Conduct monthly demand review meetings with sales for appropriate demand management and sign off
Generate reports to provide value-add information through interpretation of the forecast and demand requirements
Assist in developing the annual budget and cost-effectiveness initiatives
Assist in accumulation, interpretation, and the presentation of statistical analysis to key stakeholders in sales and operations departments
Working with the key stakeholders in sales and operations departments to identify and propose further opportunities and improvements

You will need exceptional time management and superior interpersonal skills with an ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong influencing skills and ability to clearly articulate complex issues is also very important for this role. Working for a dynamic manufacturing business, flexibility will be very important, as priorities can change rapidly.
