The role

Linktech is currently seeking an experienced, motivated and professional B2B sales professional to join our growing team. As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for positioning Linktech capabilities and driving new business initiatives to directly secure new client business opportunities.

To be successful in this role you must hold a naturally consultative approach to business and enjoy creating and maintaining open channels of communication between yourself and your clients. You will have built a solid sales career in the B2B space in a IT company.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new business relationships to extend and develop client base. 
  • Actively promote the full range Linktech services.
  • Establish solid relationships with certain identified new clients at all levels within the organisation and provide an effective account management service to identify, exploit and maximise all sales opportunities.
  • Undertake creative, effective and relevant presentations to clients.
  • Produce creative, timely and effective tender and proposal responses to clients. 
  • Assist management in the development of strategic sales and marketing plans for all professional services to facilitate the achievement of business targets.
  • Plan, organize and implement an appropriate number of sales cycles to generate and maintain a constant business pipeline.
  • Obtain market information through liaison with industry associations, government bodies and others, to ensure new business opportunities are identified and followed through.
  • Adherence to Linktech standards, Quality process and management systems, procedures and KPI's.
  • Attendance of Sales Conference and sales management meetings as required.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Solid business development experience (5 years minimum) in IT 'solution sales' i.e. presenting a 'concept/solution' as opposed to a 'product'.
  • A proven track record in sales, including cold calling clients, making appointments and generating new business.
  • Selling Managed services experience
  • Proven track record in selling cloud based solutions (IAAS\SAAS) and cloud migration projects
  • Experience in selling and negotiating large multiyear Managed Service Agreements
  • Self-motivated and with a strong desire to achieve personal and team goals.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and excellent time-management skills.
  • Good team player; able to work well with others and independently as required.
  • Smart professional business-like appearance with mature attitude.
  • Creativity, drive and tenacity with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Must be able to generate own leads – good phone and appointment generating skills.
  • Formal sales training background required including proven BDM skills.
  • Excellent ability to present and conduct meetings at CIO/ CFO/ IT Director level.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Highly autonomous and able to self manage their activity
