JOB DESCRIPTION

Use you skills and experience to support the Procurement Manager in planning, administrating, receiving, dispatching and coordinating equipment supply to regions and units.

WHO WE ARE: Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

ROLE SUMMARY: This role is responsible for supporting the Procurement Manager in planning, administrating, receiving, dispatching and coordinating equipment supply to regions and units in an efficient and timely manner. The role is also responsible for ensuring paperwork is complete and registration of equipment and assets into the asset management system is completed.

The position being offered is a VPS 2.1, Fixed Term, Full Time, Up to 30 June 2021, Up to 30 June 2021. During this time, VICSES are anticipating a reorganisation which could impact and change this position.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: Enhance VICSES ability to maintain an appropriately resourced emergency management and response capacity by ensuring all assets and equipment are properly received and dispatched at the State Logistics Centre. This includes the receipt of all deliveries, the safe storage and subsequent dispatching of equipment to the required locations across Victoria.

Assist with coordination and implementation of annual equipment replacement program which includes preparing equipment for delivery at units, undertaking unit stocktakes, removing obsolete or expired equipment, replacing equipment, preparing and recording paperwork and preparing equipment for disposal.

Ensure the State Logistics centre is functioning efficiently and effectively including maintain stock and consumable levels, coordinate and plan stock movement and deliveries, ensure stock is sufficiently rotated and that WHS policies and procedures are adhered at all times by staff, visitors, suppliers and contractors.

Ensure that VICSES maintains a state of operational readiness by recording equipment in the Equipment Management System including order receipting, asset/equipment additions / registration, movement orders, consignments, disposal activities and capitalisation of Assets.
