Program Officer

  • $87,460 - $99,438 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term for 2 years
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The position of Program Officer forms part of the Local Government Victoria branch within the Local Government and Suburban Development group.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Capital Programs, this position supports the efficient and effective local infrastructure investment programs with a particular focus on the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program. This will include undertaking and supporting the activities of program design, application assessment, funding agreement development, investment monitoring, grant acquittal, program evaluation and providing high level program support to the team as required. 

Key accountabilities are to:

  • Maintain and utilise the grant management and financial management systems for grants, particularly in relation to tracking the status of applications and assessments, developing new funding agreements, and processing payments and acquittals.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with, and provide advice to, a range of internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to Council representatives, regional library corporations, community groups or Department staff
  • Prepare quality written materials including correspondence, reports and briefings to support the work of the program as required. 

The successful candidate will have strong tool and project management skills, as well as demonstrated planning and organising skills.
