Our Opportunity

The Bayside City Council 'Sustainability Strategy Officer' drives achievement of the goals set out in the Bayside Environmental Sustainability Framework and Council's Climate Emergency Action Plan.

Bayside City Council declared a Climate Emergency in December 2019 and was accredited as 'Carbon Neutral' for its operations in December 2020. The role requires planning and delivery of projects, programs and services to accelerate action on climate change, while maintaining Council's 'carbon neutral' status, and continuing to minimise our impact on the environment.

To Be Successful In This Role

Using your highly valued skills and experience in project management, data analysis and reporting, together with your ability to work collaboratively, you will help deliver environmentally sustainable outcomes for both Council and the community. You will have qualifications in sustainability, environmental science policy or planning, carbon accounting, or similar. Knowledge of sustainable technologies and experience in local government will be highly valued. This position reports to the Coordinator, Environmental Sustainability.
