Management Accountant - Production Support

About this role:

Brunel are recruiting a Management Accountant to work with our client to provide management accounting services for the Production Support team and assistance to the Offshore Production team when required.

Period close:

  • Receive journal and accrual inputs prepared by the offshore operatives that work with the Management Accounting team and review
  • Ensure integrity of processes such as CATS, assessment cycles, CO-PS WBS, CO-CCA, CO-IO;
  • Review reconciliation inputs prepared by the offshore Management Accounting team.
  • Support the coordination the consolidation of business department impacts on cash calls
  • Support preparation of budget/forecast for the Production Support team for inclusion in the relevant Work Program and Budget documents which are submitted for approval by the Board and JV participants
  • Coordinate the annual budget in line with the guideline/ timetable;
  • Develop SAP-BPC inputs;
  • Submit quarterly forecasts for relevant periods of expenditure;
  • Maintain foreign currency views;
  • Develop variance commentary on material differences
  • Management reporting with the support of the offshore Management Accounting team:
  • Maintain and improve effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise reporting suite to meet internal managers’ requirements (SAP-BW, Power BI and ECC6);
  • Deliver inputs for Head Office and management reporting with variance commentary on material differences;
  • Continuously review the activity cost flows
  • oversight of the service providers cost centres to ensure effective recovery (e.g. rates and residuals), on time payment, accruals are undertaken, reconciliation is completed, and reporting is provided to managers.
  • Support development of BW, CO, PS, IO, CATS;
  • Work with Systems Accounting on changes to ensure costing and reporting compliance while improving efficiency;
  • Master Data – WBS structures, secondary cost elements, cost centre hierarchies. Request, review and maintain master data.
  • Reporting templates – PS, CO, BW.
  • Support the development of Management Accounting Processes
  • Support audits (including non-operator audits across all Logistics activities
  • Support Tax team in preparation and analysis of financial data.
  • Monitor financial aspects within the contracting process for relevant Departments:
  • Provide input to procurement plans, budget identification and due diligence reviews using the Corporate evaluation standards;
  • Understand and communicate finance risks in contracts and obtain negotiated outcomes. For key contracts participate in development of commercial review and ensure the contract will work during execution.Management Accounting Process:
  • Ensure that processes and controls are documented across both Perth and offshore processes;Communicate requirements to stakeholders.

What you need to bring:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting (essential).
  • CA/CPA/CIMA (or similar international recognition).
  • Post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline (not essential).
  • 3-5 years post-graduate experience (essential).Experience with SAP – demonstrably capable – FI/CO PS module with some knowledge of MM, BW and other modules.
  • Two years’ experience working closely with Financial or Joint Venture Accounting team (essential).
  • Experience in diverse working environments including E&P operations, projects, exploration, and manufacturing/production also desirable.
  • Ability to determine root cause of issues, position for Finance outcomes to be met while working collaboratively on solutions.
  • Seeks to optimise processes and demonstrates the aptitude to understand complex processes and the logic underpinning the design of those process.
  • Good working knowledge of Australian tax regime.
  • Experience working with offshore enabled management accounting teams in a global environment (preferable).
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office Suite products.
  • Exposure to Performance measurement techniques and business analysis
