An exciting opportunity currently exists for two enthusiastic Unaccredited General Surgery Registrars to join our General Surgery Department from May 2021.

Details of Department

The Division of Surgery, Anaesthesia and Procedural Medicine (SAPM) is responsible for the provision of services within the auspices of general surgery and specialty units to patients across Austin Health, which is situated at Austin Hospital and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital. The General Surgery Department provides both elective and emergency work.

Details of position/position requirements

This role is to support the General surgery units to provide exceptional care to patients requiring assessment, surgical intervention and post operative management for presentations requiring general surgery.

To be successful in this role you must:

Attend to all referrals within 12 hours.

Participate in the on-call roster as required.

Provide a consultative service to other units as required.

Participate in the auditing and review of clinical practice to improve clinical outcomes.
