  • Permanent Full-time position, Werribee-based
  • Salary $65,662.48 (pro rata) plus super and fortnightly RDO

A bit about the role

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated Customer and Community focused individual to join the as a Child and Family Support Assistant within the Maternal Child Family Health and Wellbeing unit.

We are looking for someone who possesses excellent customer service and administration skills to help us to continue to deliver an exceptional customer experience to all members of our community. You must work well in a team environment and communicate with families, colleagues and supervisors in a friendly, approachable and emphatic way.

The state-wide Maternal and Child Health Sleep and Settling initiative provides an evidenced informed approach to supporting parents and caregivers who have raised a sleep and settling concern. The immediate focus for this role will to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Sleep and Settling model of care.

The role works collaboratively with the Universal MCH Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team. The position requires innovation, flexibility, creativity and passion for working with families in the early years.

To be successful in this position you will have a strong analytical mindset, with a passion in data collection and analysis. You are motivated at the idea of a challenges and love troubleshooting problems, whilst always assessing risks and opportunities along the way. You will be organised, with timelines well mapped out to allow you to prioritise the work that needs to be done to deliver the best community outcomes.

  • An empathetic and friendly approach to your work, being outcome focused and always ensuring a great experience for residents.
  • Provide helpful assistance to community members to access services that are responsive to their needs
  • The formation of strong positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to work autonomously and use your initiative to aid colleagues and members of the community while managing competing priorities effectively and efficiently
  • Quality administrative support ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner


What you’ll bring

  • A friendly, positive and level-headed disposition
  • An awareness or passion in Maternal and Child Health Sleep and Settling
  • The capacity to resolve complex problems in a high-pressured setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment towards company values, policies and procedures
  • Strong administrative experience including experience in data entry, answering phone queries, filing, writing documents, meeting planning, room bookings, supporting families in community centres/play groups
  • Being able to translate the Community Support mission and vision to real work situations
  • Good time management, organisational and computer skills
  • Working knowledge of the Child Information Development System (CDIS) (desired)
  • Knowledge of Try booking or (a) booking system (desired)
  • Experience with survey design (desired)
  • The ability to adapt to change with a positive and curious mindset
