Project Manager - Technology and Transformation

The purpose of this role is to lead the technology application delivery team, work with stakeholders across Suncorp to understand their business strategy and technology needs and manage the end to end delivery across the Insurance portfolio (includes Suncorp, AAMI, GIO, Shannons, APIA, Bingle brands). These projects may have one or a varying combination of business and technical deliverables.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage the end to end (from discovery through to implementation) delivery of small, medium and large, highly visible projects for Insurance portfolio
• Drive disciplined Agile practices
• Maintain project budgets
• Work with key business stakeholders to ensure the most appropriate, cost effective and timely solutions are delivered;
• Ensure effective and timely communication to the business and other stakeholder groups, building and maintaining strong relationships
• Manage the risk profile of assigned projects and apply appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

• Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or Business IT or Project Management qualifications. Mandatory.

• 3-5 years of experience working with Project Management Methodology with a track record of delivery on past projects (mandatory)
• Previous experience of IT operations and application ownership in a large organisation (desirable)
• Excellent knowledge/experience in the application of Agile and lean approaches
• Proven capability in contributing to the strategic direction of a department
• Experience in leading teams through periods of change

• Thorough knowledge of Project Management methodology, processes and tools
• Demonstrated experience with successful project delivery using an Agile approach.
• Knowledge of Change and release management processes and procedures.
• A proven ability to manage across broad teams and business areas, and ensure effective delivery of multiple projects simultaneously;
• Successful record of matrix management, ideally including managing nationally distributed resources;
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Effective planning, co-ordinating and managing timeframes to achieve deliverables.
