Your role

Are you great with numbers with an eye for detail? A motivated self-starter and able prioritize deadlines? Do you a fund accounting background in the finance sector?

We're looking for a Fund Accounting Specialist to:

• Prepare portfolio activity, portfolio analysis, client valuations and client specific reporting on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Establish and maintain a great working relationship with custodians/administrators, portfolio managers, auditors, and other key business stakeholders.
• Review the fund distribution calculations prepared by the custodian on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis depending on the fund's distribution frequency.
• Review financial statements, BAS, trust tax returns and other information for submission to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Australian Taxation Office and Australian Bureau of Statistics.
• Review monthly management expense ratio (MER) to ensure the proper calculation of management fee by the administrator.
• Review and analyze any variances in financial information and perform ad-hoc analysis

Your team

You'll be working in the Fund Accounting team in Sydney. You will be assisting and supporting the Fund Accounting function for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual key deliverables and reporting. This role acts as conduit for the global hubs i.e. London, Singapore, Poland and managing the custodians/administrators and servicing the Front Office and other business areas so you need to be confident with your communication and establish and maintain a great working relationship with custodians/administrators, portfolio managers, auditors, and other key business stakeholders. As a Fund Accounting Specialist, you'll play an important role in ensuring the accurate valuation and daily pricing of our funds, reviewing the distribution calculations of the funds and ensuring the correct disclosures in the financial statements.

Your expertise

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance or similar field
• Accounting qualifications CPA/CA
• Previous experience in a fund accounting role in a financial services organisation
• Good understanding of the Fund industry (including custodian) or asset management industry.
• Understanding the Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS and their applications to the Fund industry.
• Understanding of Australian Tax law and its application to Attributed Managed Investment Trusts.
• methodical, concise and accurate work style, with strong attention to detail and deadlines
• able to apply technical understanding to solve problems (you can't be replaced by a robot)
• a good communicator
• conscientious and focused on objectives with a can-do-attitude
