Ventia are looking for expressions of interest for a Finance Manager for an upcoming role with one of its Facilities Management Contracts - based in Sydney.

About the role:
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager / Project Director - the Finance Manager is responsible for providing leadership and management of the finance, commercial and risk processes for the contract they are working on, as well as representing all financial aspects of the management of the FM portfolio.
This role will also develop and mentor the project finance team and ensure that this contract is delivered within time, cost, and quality requirements.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, or Business Management essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Sound knowledge and proven experience in applying financial and accounting systems
  • Knowledge with Hard & Soft FM activity and terminology
  • Proven experience in computer applications and databases for financial reporting
  • Knowledge of project work order management and financial management systems
  • Experience and knowledge of SAP
  • FM contract management experience and performance analysis
  • Proven track record in successfully delivering commercial outcomes
  • Previous experience in leading and managing a team
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Strong time management and organisation skills
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Completion of month end tasks and deliverables as per the corporate timeline
  • Key role working with multiple client representatives (including FM & finance teams) representing/reporting/recommending financial activity within the client portfolio
  • Responsibility for accurate accrual calculations and timely contract invoicing in line with client financial and work order data requirements
  • Development of all reporting requirements for the Contract product level reporting highlighting areas where performance improvement is required
  • Implementing contract risk management strategies
  • Synchronisation of data across work management system and financial system
  • Providing ad hoc reporting and investigations as necessary
  • Consistent monitoring, evaluation and reporting of budgets/forecast and operational performance, service and quality standards and the efficiency of staff and processes
  • Manage subcontractor contractual requirements and measure performance against agreed operational and financial metrics
  • Identify synergies across delivery teams and regions to streamline processes and delivery of services with a focus on cost out
  • Ownership and management of contract variation process - maintaining an accurate variation register, expediting, and validating claims and status reporting
