Working within the Brisbane based Claims team, the role requires the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and have complete customer ownership – whilst driving customer and policy outcomes through team leadership, guidance and monitoring. Ensuring the delivery and actioning of information (financial and procedural adherence - including GICOP) in line with the DSH Insurance policy and claims outcome expectations associated with the management of end to end claims functions. It is imperative that you can manage your own time and take ownership within the team environment and want to help others.
Duties include:
- Assist with projects as required
- Assist Assistant Director with the administration of the Claims Team metrics and data
- Review processes & deliver training to Insurance Advisors
- Compliance General Advice certification. Knowledge of Insurance Contracts Act 1984 and General Insurance Code of Practice
- Manage and assist in complex claims issues (people, process, metrics, policy)
- Provide advice to team members on complex claim matters including AFCA submissions, Insurance Council of Australia committee attendance and contribution
- Deliver training, provide feedback and quality support to all members of the team.
- Represent DSH Insurance at Departmental and client activities, including undertaking presentations to increase DSH Insurance brand awareness and provide information on DSH Insurance products.
- Examine work practices on a continuing basis to ensure tasks/procedures are being carried out in an effective, efficient and timely manner.
Experience and qualifications in the general insurance industry.
Notes: Opportunity Status: Ongoing/Non-ongoing. A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions within the next 12 months.
