Where do we start? What a role! The Group PR, Sustainability & Communications function at Opal is a small but dynamic team that knows how to bounce. If you are looking for a varied role where no two days are ever the same then you have landed in the right place.

We have diverse stakeholder groups (from external environmental interest groups to our own employees) and the Communications Coordinator will play a vital role in the development, distribution and management of content right across this spectrum and across a variety of channels. This will include;

  • Assisting with the development of sales & marketing collateral and email/digital campaigns
  • Supporting the development of communication packs for distribution to our site based employees for various events & CEO/COO site visits
  • Donning your journalist hat, and seeking out stories and items of interest for inclusion in our internal communications (ie newsletter, SharePoint etc)
  • Helping us with our Social Media strategy and co-ordinating regular content/updates for our different online platforms (Linked-in, website, Twitter etc)
  • Supporting our internal communications and employee engagement initiatives (ie, Yammer)
  • Assisting in managing our brand integrity/consistency through maintenance and control of our brand library & resources

This really is a diverse role requiring someone who is energetic, self-driven and super keen to get involved in anything and everything! Of course, you will also have some critical skills & experience such as;
  • Previous experience (around the 5 year mark) working in a similar role in either a PR/Comms Agency or in-house with a large, complex organisation
  • Strong writing skills (for various audiences)
  • Previous experience with all the bells and whistles (SharePoint, Yammer, WordPress, Linked-in)
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills; a real flair for understanding what’s needed and getting on with it.
