Senior Fund Accountant - 6 month contract

The Senior Fund Accountant sits within the Financial Operations team, who are responsible for end to end fund accounting for both the Mercer Super Trust (MST) and the stand-alone superannuation entities (MSA).

The Senior Fund Accountant is responsible for:

  • the integrity of the accounting information ensuring the general ledgers accurately reflect the value of the assets and liabilities of the various Trusts administered by Mercer; and
  • the Fund’s reporting requirements, including financial statements, APRA reporting, statutory reporting, and various tax returns.

We will count on you to:
  • Preparation and review of the financial reporting requirements;
  • Reconciliation and oversight of general ledger balances;
  • Preparation and review of accounting journal entries posted to general ledger;
  • APRA Reporting;
  • Preparation and review of monthly Income Activity Statements, Business Activity Statement and tax provisions;
  • Responsibility for year-end financial reporting process;
  • Preparation and review of monthly management reporting;
  • Communicating with both external clients and our global teams; and
  • Assisting with Transformation Projects.
What you need to have:
  • CPA/CA qualified;
  • Experience in superannuation and financial services industry;
  • Demonstrated Superannuation and Tax knowledge and experience;
  • Financial Statement and APRA Reporting experience;
  • Strong time management, oral and written communication skills;
  • Year-end planning and audit liaison experience;
  • Advanced numerical, reconciliation and problem solving skills;
  • High level of attention to detail; and
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
