About the role

In line with the continued growth at Officeworks our Advanced Analytics team is growing! We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to take responsibility of the advanced analytics projects. You will be working with different business functions and within the division to understand requirements, develop analytical methods and algorithms to support decision making processes. You will also

• Build statistical models from scratch and develop machine learning algorithms
• Partner with developers, business SMEs, and data engineers to deliver timely, high-quality analytic products
• Support the analytical products life cycle, from development to implementation within the business function
• Present results to stakeholders by developing visualisations, presentations and recommendations for action

About you

You are tertiary educated; Bachelors in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or similar. Essential to your success, you will demonstrable expertise in complex data and analytics including previous exposure to machine learning techniques and algorithms such as GLM, Neural Network, Decision Trees, Random Forrest, Boosting methods, etc.

Additionally you will have

• Experience with SQL and Python
• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau etc.
• Strong problem solving skills and critical thinking ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
