The Client:

Solgen Energy is Australia's first and largest commercial solar energy provider. They design, engineer, install and maintain commercial solar power systems across Australia. They have grown to become Australia's largest provider in the market.

They now seek an Accountant to join their Sydney office in St Leonards.

The Role:

The role would see you become an integral part of the business. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, honest, and reliable while also being able to work as part of a team.

It is for a full time role with an annual salary between $85,000 to $86,000 depending on experience, plus superannuation.

The Responsibilities:

  • Involved in implementing accounting and internal control system for continuous improvement in reporting,
  • Maintaining and reconciling books of accounts including general ledger accounts, Profit & Loss and balance sheet.
  • Assist in preparing BAS and PYAG statements, reconcile the GST and PAYG withholding account and lodge monthly BAS with ATO,
  • Assisting with annual audit preparations, investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Assisting in managing of Inventory control and periodic Stocks take in accordance with the internal control system and reporting findings of the same.
  • Preparing regular reports on areas of efficiency increase, cost reduction, profit leakages, high risk and processes through evaluating efficacy of Internal control processes.
  • Preparation of Monthly Profitability & Analytical Statements.
  • Assisting payroll for employees including PAYG, tax, workers compensation, and superannuation
  • Assisting with the administration of all superannuation record keeping and compliance
  • Asist in the maintain the accurate employee details on Ascender payroll system and manage the journal exchange between payroll system and central ERP system
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Monitor ERP system transaction flow and provide advice for system improvement.
  • Assist in customizing ERP system to meet the business requirement.
  • Liaise with NetSuite and programmer for system upgrade and customization.
  • Monthly review and upload credit card transactions, and reconcile the accounts,
  • Provide other various management report and internal financial analysis if required

The Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of tax laws and Accounting Standards
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex evolving industry
  • Strong problem solving and financial analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills.
  • Ability to train and manage staff
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts
  • Detail oriented, ability to multitask, work independently and prioritise tasks
  • Proven track record of increased responsibilities and scope
  • Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires the in-depth evaluation of numerous factors
  • Ability to self-manage and execute in an unstructured environment
  • Ability to organise, plan and manage, together with the capacity to prioritise for self and coordinate input from others to deliver timely results
  • Demonstrated experience in complex, integrated, computerised accounting systems;
  • Demonstrated ability to methodically analyse sets of data
