Our client, a medium size company with 2 workshops in Wetherill Park that has been established for over 25 years & has been at the forefront of their industry & due to growth are seeking an experienced Fitter and Turner to lead their Fabrication & Assembly team. They are close to Public Transport (T-way) & shops.

The Position:

Fabrication & Assembly Team Leader

Skills & experience

Ability to lead a small team of tradesman & assistants.

• Ability to delegate work tasks & manage work flow to meet delivery schedules.
• Trade Qualified Fitter and Turner - min 10 years' experience
• Read engineering drawings
• Manufacture precision components using manual Lathe and Mill
• Perform fitting and assembly of components on various Sampling equipment including conveyors & crushers & test after assembly to ensure complete and functioning as intended & issue related paperwork, including marking up drawings to allow "As Built " drawings to be produced.
• Undertake rebuilds and refurbishment of existing equipment, to the required standards.
• Carry out pre delivery inspections on new and refurbished equipment.
• Job administration
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to teach & nurture junior team members.
• MIG & TIG experience (including light gauge Stainless Steel) is advantageous.
• Forklift licence an advantage.
• Experience with overhead cranes desirable.
• Ability to maintain WHS Standards
• Familiarity with Windows & Microsoft Office based software.
