About the Department

St. Vincent’s Mental Health (SVMH) includes an adult area mental health service for the inner city areas of Yarra and Boroondara.

About the Role

Under the guidance of the CATS Manager, Clinical Director CATS and in conjunction with team members, provide a high standard of clinical assessment, treatment and support to consumers who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties and their families. The multidisciplinary team provides a range of clinical and therapeutic interventions using the recovery-focused Strengths Model of Recovery. Predominantly working on night shift covering emergency department, mental health duty.

Classification Range

  • OT/SW Grade 3 YB24 - YB27 or YC46 - YC49 ($93,860 - $107,234 per annum)
  • RPN Grade 4 NP75 - NP77 ($98,800 - $109,200 per annum)
  • Psychologist Grade 3 PL1 - PL4 ($100,037.60 - $113,911.20).

Duties

  • Work within the Strengths Model of Recovery Orientated Practice
  • Support Consumers in becoming experts and leader of their own care
  • Actively uphold the culture of hope by using optimistic language supporting people and celebrating consumer’s recovery efforts
  • Work with people to support and sustain existing resources, assets, networks and relationships
  • Provide high quality discipline specific and mental health assessments, case management, rehabilitation and discipline specific treatments to consumers and carers

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree (minimum) in Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Division 1 or 3.
  • Masters Degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology recognised by the Australian Psychological
  • Bachelor of Social Work (B.SW). Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Eligible for membership of Australian Association of Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • A current Victorian driver’s licence.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments including mental state assessment, risk assessment and plan appropriate interventions.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide Psychiatric Triage services.
