Job Description

At Zendesk, we’re always striving to break new ground with customer service software. We’re currently looking for a Software Engineer to work with the Answer Bot team in Melbourne. This role will be focused on Answer Bot Flow Builder which supports Zendesk Messaging through a click-to-configure tool that allows admins to build conversational journeys that can be delivered across multiple messaging channels in various languages. We’re currently focused on improving the usability and adoption of our current offering. The next phase of this project will be focused on introducing routing and automation capabilities in these conversational journeys to enable efficient triaging of customer issues and further enhancing our self-service capabilities.

  • Write clean and maintainable code to support the team’s delivery commitments
  • Take ownership of features and collaborate with senior team members to design complete solutions
  • Break complex features into granular pieces of work
  • Prioritise and estimate work balancing feature delivery with the creation of tech debt
  • Actively participate in pairing sessions and code reviews
  • Work closely with Design and Product on new capabilities while addressing customer issues
  • Provide BAU support for our services in Production
  • Actively look for ways to improve the observability, performance and security of our services
