Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and support the engineering activities, provide technical leadership, knowledge leadership and industry best practice to Software Development teams as a People Leader and Thought Leader.
  • Plan, execute and manage the engineering activities at system level to meet performance quality, project schedule and milestones, and cost targets
  • Together with the development teams, coordinate all engineering activities
  • Manages the technical risks relevant to development and production operations of applications managed by the team
  • Contribute to program risk management on an ad hoc basis when requested by the Head of Delivery
  • Provide technical roadmaps, industry best practice and technical developments to the Head of Delivery to align to the Organisation’s strategy and business capability roadmap
  • Provide management capabilities to the engineering team
  • Select, specify, and deploy methodologies (including metrics), tools/platforms necessary for engineering activities
  • Work with the development teams and third-party suppliers to analyse the requirements and follow the engineering activities
  • Identify continuous improvement of the application to prevent production issues
  • Triage production issues where required and provide technical guidance and advice in restoring production incidents and creating problem resolution plans
  • Providing collaborative support to the other members of the management and wider teams.
  • Build a high performing motivated application development team.
To be successful you will ideally possess:

  • Significant experience in a variety of software engineering roles and technologies including full stack development experience.
  • Have worked closely to assure that the transition of software from development into operations with the right amount of operational assurance being incorporated in engineering practices.
  • Have a proven track record of adopting new technologies
  • A passion for software development
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering / Computer Science, AWS, Azure / GCP Certification
