Are you passionate about food, providing exceptional service and about leading a small team of Food & Beverage Attendants within a supportive and professional environment?

Next Gen Health and Lifestyle Clubs is bringing a brand new, premium, members-only health club to Melbourne and we are looking for a professional Food & Beverage Manager (FOH & BOH) to join the Team to contribute to our service offering.

Interviews will commence for this role in early March with a commencement date of early May 2021.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ensuring that the necessary controls are maintained to ensure that the department is achieving budgeted revenue and costs are controlled through effective rostering, time management and supervision;
  • Maintaining effective standards on safety and food hygiene practices and ensuring the weekly cleaning schedule for the Food and Beverage areas is being adhered to by all Food and Beverage staff and that it is up to standard;
  • Ensuring that staff in the Food and Beverage areas possess the knowledge of the Club facilities, menus, wine lists and that they are competent and actively maximizing the revenue from each customer;
  • Openly communicate with staff ensuring regular briefings occur and all relevant information is passed onto other employees;
  • Maintaining a strong functional relationship with the Head Chef and the café team. Assisting in anyway required ensuring both departments’ service goals are achieved;
  • Ensuring all Food and Beverage Staff are fully trained and use up-selling techniques at all times; and
  • Complying at all times with the requirements of the Sale of Liquor Act and to demonstrate an understanding of host responsibility.

Cost control is key to the success of this role, demonstrated experience is required in the following areas:

  • Ensure that the Café and Function employees adhere to all cost controlling procedures. Including management of COGS, and wage controls; 
  • Conduct regular inspections, using formulated check lists to endure stock is being used and stored efficiently; 
  • Implement and follow purchasing procedures to ensure efficiencies; and
  • Always act in the best interests of the Club with regard to minimising wastage costs and maximising revenue within the bounds of best practice.


  • Knowledge and skills in food and beverage service
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to work as part of a dynamic team
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a manager with limited supervision
  • Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA)
  • Barista training
  • First Aid Certificate
