About the role

Hay Point Production Department has a great opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor who is looking to take the next step in their career in this leadership role. Reporting to the Superintendent Production, your primary responsibility as a Production Supervisor will be to lead a shift Production team. We are looking for an energetic, progressive and collaborative leader to join our leadership team as Supervisor. Be a part of this dynamic and experienced team to ensure safe production in accordance with daily production schedules.


Key duties

  • The ability and courage to lead change and develop high performing crews;
  • Develop and lead a culture of inclusion and diversity;
  • Demonstrate and instil an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Supervise the execution of the week 0 production schedule;
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives with support from Production Analysis and Improvement;
  • Monitors and verifies competency of individual operators in the safe performance of their duties; and
  • Working in a proactive business culture and with a supportive management structure, you'll have the chance to promote business excellence through your team and you'll make full use of your broad range of skills in the areas of continuous improvement, technical knowledge and communication; and
  • Liaise with pilots, shipping agents and other personnel involved in the ship-handling role and directly supervise the onshore activities of vessel arrival and departure.



About you

You will also be able to demonstrate previous success in leading a diverse team to deliver exceptional safety and operational results.

  • You will have a strong understanding of the risks of the supervisor position and SHMS, with experience in facilitating risk management investigations;
  • You will have excellent communication skills, verbal and written along with your ability to influence stakeholders by setting direction, providing sufficient communications to gain agreement and commitment at all levels while taking accountability and have an action oriented working style;
  • You will be provided with exposure to all levels of the organisation, and this role will see you develop influential relationships with multiple functions and stakeholders, including senior leadership;
  • Experience working in the Coal industry, specifically Port Production is desirable but not essential for this position.
  • Additionally you will be familiar with the Microsoft Office suite.
