Our client is one of the largest providers of accounting, audit, tax, business and financial advice to individuals, small and medium enterprises in Australasia. Due to continued growth, they have a newly created opportunity in their rapidly expanding national corporate finance team.

Reporting to senior partners, you will be responsible for corporate finance services (transactions $20M to $300M) including, business valuations, financial modelling, M&A, and financial due diligence.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Financial due diligence - undertaking in-depth analysis of company information and financial statements.
  • Valuations due diligence - undertaking research and analysis to support assumptions considered in valuations
  • Building and reviewing integrated financial models
  • Conduct research on companies, the economy, industries and assist with researching opportunities and preparation of proposals.
  • Proactively communicate with clients, developing a detailed understanding of their business to determine how you can best serve their needs.
  • Prepare and review information memorandums, other sale documents and engagement letters
  • Manage the delivery of advisory and transaction service engagements for medium to large private companies, small high growth emerging companies and listed public companies
  • Plan assignments including identifying relevant risks and establishing controls to mitigate risks
  • Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files are maintained in line with compliance requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all statutory and relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:

  • 5-8 years of relevant corporate finance, M&A experience in a similar role within a mid-tier or large chartered accounting, investment bank or corporate advisory firm
  • Degree qualified in either, Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance – CA and CFA qualifications are desirable.
  • Possess sound accounting knowledge and commercial acumen with regards to financial due diligence experience
  • Strong financial modelling skills and a good understanding of business valuations
  • Client focused and an ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Clear and effective communicator and able to present in a professional manner.
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience writing information memorandums.
  • Experience in working with businesses of a range of sectors and sizes.
  • Experience in scoping, planning, and managing assignments.
