Purpose of Role

To provide support to Finance Manager of Alternate Care with the financial and accounting activities according to the approved Policies and Procedures.

General Responsibilities

  • Daily processing of invoicing and payment processes, debt recovery and the development of identified budgets within identified timeframes
  • Ensuring that there is effective communication between Department of Child Safety, Youth & Women, in the development of budgets, invoicing and payment processes
  • Preparing and delivering the fortnightly payments of Providers’ invoices, and ensuring that all payments are correctly checked against identified documents, including Booking Agreements, work orders and budgets
  • Assisting the Finance Manager, where required, to prepare, implement and monitor all invoicing to all customers
  • Assisting the Finance Manager, where required, to ensure that all debt recovery is monitored on a weekly basis and to recover debt within the 7day period
  • Assisting, in the absence of Finance Manager (during time off or due to illness), in completing any Finance Manager tasks, as required

Key Criteria

  • Commitment to ethical work practices and quality improvement;
  • Ability to work and function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Child Protection Act 1999
