ASSISTANT GRAPHIC DESIGNER (Temporary up to 12 months)

About The Role

We are seeking applications for a passionate and creative individual to join Council’s Communications and Engagement Team. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative team; and be responsible for assisting with the development and design of communications and marketing assets and corporate publications that reflect Council’s corporate brand and identity in an engaging way.

Salary and Conditions

  • Temporary Part-Time position, 21 hours per week (up to 12 months)
  • Salary commencing from $839.83 per week, commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful applicant

Selection Criteria

Essential Requirements

Essential Experience and Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum Certificate III qualifications (enrolled or near completion) in Graphic Design
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • High level of technical skills and expertise in using Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat
  • Demonstrated experience creating effective visual communication pieces from inception through to finished product
  • Experience creating communication and marketing assets for a range of mediums including print and electronic media and for a range of target audiences.

  • Ability to manage workloads in tight timeframes and work with the team to plan and prioritise work to meet organisational demand
  • The ability and commitment to work flexible hours including working evenings and weekends.


Desirable Requirements
  • Experience and skills in digital photography
  • Local Government experience
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
