Under General Supervision, performs welding processes such as GTAW (TIG), SMAW (MMA), SAW (Wire Feed, MIG), PTAW (Plasma), Oxy-Fuel brazing and cutting. Responsible for ensuring duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. Proficiency typically acquired through 3-5 years of related experience in Welding/Fabrication.

The Position

As a field welder Halliburton you will use a variety of welding, cutting, and abrasive wheel equipment to perform running repairs on a variety of transportation and unique mobile oilfield equipment. Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed. Job duties may consist of, but not limited to, welding, cutting, brazing, hard facing, tacking. This role is responsible for following specific and detailed work processes within the Halliburton Management System (HMS) as well as customer and country specific requirements where applicable. Employees are expected to have good written and verbal communication skills, as well as be competent in the use of computers. Employees must be able to review quality of work against standards both visual and written, as well as knowledgeable in the use of precision measuring instruments. Employees may also perform post-work inspections. Safety procedures must be followed diligently at all times i.e. Perform welding assembly process in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards and policies. Completion of High School degree or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience are required. 3-5 years of experience and Coded certification in welding or equivalent are preferred.

The successful candidate will work an even time FIFO roster. Some “on call” work outside of the roster may be required workload dependent.

Key Applicant Requirements

  • Trade Qualification – Certificate 3 in engineering and fabrication, and able to pass welding examination to ASME IX on the following processes ; GMAW, GTAW and MMAW.
  • Ability to pass fitness for work medical and ongoing drug & alcohol screenings
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • A positive attitude with a proven positive work ethic
  • At least 2 contactable employer references
  • Confined space and working at heights qualifications advantageous.
  • HR and HC License advantageous
