We have 2 opportunities 1 x Full Time Perm role and 1 x Fixed term 9 month contract.

The Financial Accounting Assistant Team Leader (“ATL”) will be responsible for leading 5 accountants for the Corporate Brands. This role is ideal for an Accountant that is passionate about accounting, risk mitigation and wants to step up and lead others.

As a part of the financial accounting team for our corporate brands we are responsible for reducing and preventing risk, end of month processing, calculation of incentive wages, maintaining financial control and ensuring consistent accounting treatment across the brands.

Reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller for the Corporate Brands, the successful applicant is someone who has a strong attention to detail, initiative to resolve issues and create efficiencies and flexibility to adapt in an ever changing environment. You will have an excellent understanding of accounting and a history of mitigating risk and partnering with the business in previous roles.

Duties And Responsibilities

As an ATL you will be given as much flexibility as you would like to achieve the below, whilst also having the support required to allow you and the team to be successful.

  • Lead and assist the 5 other team members to ensure timely and accurate reporting of Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet results for our corporate brands
  • Ensure a high level of financial control with the implementation of risk reviews
  • Ensure processes are documented and process notes are maintained
  • Be accountable to the teams SLAs, including monthly reviews with key stakeholders
  • Assist the Assistant Financial Controller with process improvement and efficiency
  • Assist with half year and year end statutory audits
  • Providing leadership to the team including giving feedback and leading meetings
  • Collaborating with other finance teams, operations and other support teams to mitigate risk and add value to the business
  • Training and on boarding of new staff members

About You

3+ years in finance

CA/CPA qualified or working towards

High level of ownership

High attention to detail

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels

Proven teamwork skills

Strong accounting knowledge

High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure

Prior success in process improvement
