The Opportunity

Instead of telling you what a Place Manager does all day, we'll tell you why you should come and be one with us.

We're a team of six Place Managers, a Place Activation Officer and a Team Leader and part of the Economic Development and Strategy Branch. As a high-performing team and a close-knit bunch, the work we do not only benefits our internal customers but also more broadly our community.
Almost like having all the benefits of a leadership role (without the direct reports), you will have a place-based focus, you'll get to work with developers, state government and our internal branches, on planning and place-making projects, policy development and collaborating with the local community to deliver place making projects on the ground.

We take our values seriously - the care we show each other, and the pride we take in our work will develop you both personally and professionally.

Take a look at the position description at the top of the page HERE or if you'd like some more information about the role, pop our hiring manager, Ella Du Plessis (Place Management Team leader) an email on elladuplessis@logan.qld.gov.au

About you

Sure, we're looking for an experienced and competent Planner, but you'll also have excellent interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator who's able to skilfully manage conflicting priorities. We operate best as collaborative and service-oriented professionals who play a part in creating a dynamic and rewarding community focussed environment.

However, more important than experience, we're looking for someone with the following characteristics:

  • Able to work autonomously, you're creative and understand the process behind good urban design and real-world outcomes
  • You understand there's more than one solution to deliver an outcome, however your knowledge, stakeholder engagement and intuition leads you to the correct decision
  • You put the community at the forefront of your decisions

To express your interest in this role, please forward your Resume and a Cover Letter outlining your relevant skills and experience in support of your application by the closing date of 9th April 2021.
